DOMUS RESEARCH

For our Domus design, the brief is for the desert location of Djlimbardi in Western Australia (near Fitzroy Crossing). In order to develop the best solution possible, it was necessary to explore and gain inspirations from other architects who have worked in similar conditions, such as renowned Australian architect Glenn Murcutt and Iredale Pedersen Hook. Further research included Troppo architects, as well as traditional and contemporary Arabic design. Common features included cross ventilation, light weight materias (consider ease of transportation in remote areas) as well as adequate shading; necessary for such hot conditions. These points shoud be considered for this project.
